There should not have been one prison break, much less two. So, if there is a prison break, the Superintendent of Prisons must answer the question: Do you think your position is reasonably tenable if there is a prison break twice in one year of a particular prisoner?” Prime Minister and Minister of National Security Dr. Ralph Gonsalves said on the National Broadcasting Corporation on December 16.
The Prime Minister was speaking to the issue of the December 9 escape of murder accused Veron Primus and Ulric ‘Chucky’ Hanson from her Majesty’s Prison, Kingstown.
