ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Wednesday has presented a salute to the martyrs of Pakistan Police on Police Martyrs Day.
In a message on social-networking website Twitter, the army chief stated, “Pakistan Police have made monumental sacrifices in the line of duty over the years, contributing immensely in bringing peace and stability to the country.”

Pakistan immensely contributed to world peace: Murad
Minister for Communications Murad Saeed has said Pakistan has immensely contributed to the world peace.
Addressing a ceremony in connection with Police Martyrs Day in Islamabad, he said it is because of sacrifices of our security personnel including police force that peace stands restored in the country and it is opening up for economic and tourism activities.
The Minister for Communications said India is involved in conspiracies against Pakistan. He said the EU DisinfoLab exposed the true face of India before the world as it how it has remained involved in propaganda campaign against Pakistan.
Candlelight vigil held to pay tribute to martyred policemen

Islamabad:A candlelight vigil was organised by Islamabad Police at D-Chowk to pay tribute to martyred cops and express solidarity with their families.
The candlelight vigil/demonstration was attended by Inspector General of Police Islamabad Qazi Jamil ur Rehman, Deputy Commissioner Islamabad Hamza Shafqaat, Advisor to Prime Minister Ali Awan, senior police officials, members of civil society, traders and media representatives.
The pictures of police s martyrs , especially portraits having details about their sacrifices and courageous acts were also displayed. The participants lit the candles and offered Fateh for the departed souls of martyrs.
KP pays tributes to fallen heroes amid fresh attacks

PESHAWAR: A contingent of the Peshawar Police presented salute to the grave of constable Khadim Hussain in Matani as two young sons of the martyr offered fateha and showered rose petals to pay tributes to the fallen hero of the KP Police.
Khadim Hussain is one of 1,508 policemen of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa who were martyred since 2000.“Khadim Hussain was martyred when armed men targeted him a couple of years ago. I, along with my officers, are here at his grave to pay our tributes to the martyr and tell the public that we remember our heroes,” Waqar Ahmad, superintendent of police, Saddar, Peshawar, told The News.
Mardan Police blood donation camp

MARDAN: A blood donation camp will be held today at Mardan Police Lines Police today (Tuesday) while officials have also started preparations for Police Martyrs Day in the district.
Following the directives of District Police Officer Zahidullah Khan, the officers have started visiting the graves of the police martyrs and also the families in various parts of the district.A spokesman for the police said that the Martyrs Day is observed each year on August 4.
Meanwhile, the police arrested two alleged robbers and recovered cash amounts and stolen cattle from them.One Abdul Qadir was arrested in a robbery case and Rs150,000 were recovered from him. During interrogation, he confessed to having robbed a shop.Similarly, one Sajjadullah was arrested and cash amount and cattle were recovered from him in another case.
