TAMPA, Fla. - Tampa Police Chief Brian Dugan describes his fight with COVID-19 as that of a rollercoaster ride. I think in the big picture, from what I ve seen I have a mild case of it, and I m still pretty miserable, Dugan told Fox 13. I wouldn’t wish this on anyone.
He s quarantining at home for 14 days. He tested positive Sunday. I put Assistant Chief Delgado in charge he s running the show. I m not comfortable making any decisions that are life or death in a COVID Fog, he said.

TAMPA â Defense attorney Richard Escobar said Thursday heâs confident that his newest client, suspended Tampa police Detective Jarda Bradford, will be cleared of felony charges that she tampered with evidence.
The attorney said the detective made procedural errors â but did not break the law.

TAMPA, Fla. Tampa police believe they ve solved a crime that happened more than two decades ago.
Using genetic genealogy to find leads, the Tampa Police Department says an arrest has been made in a 1998 rape and kidnapping case.
Authorities say 60-year-old James Byrd was arrested Wednesday morning in Marion County and charged with armed kidnapping and sexual battery on a 22-year-old woman. As is clear in this case, we have never considered an investigation as a cold
