pic) said police retirees who need help updating their information can head to the city police headquarters or any of the district police headquarters in Kuala Lumpur from Feb 17 - 19. We will be able to assist them from 8am to 5pm, he said.
Approximately 80,000 police personnel, including retirees who served during the Emergency era, are set to receive a one-time cash aid of RM500 to be implemented in stages from March to November.
This included retirees who have yet to receive the Pingat Jasa Pahlawan Negara medals.
Comm Saiful Azly said this includes those who served in Jungle Squad, Senoi Praaq, Sabah & Sarawak Border Scout, auxiliary police, special constabulary, Extra Police Constables, the Home Guards, Women Sarawak Constabulary, and the North Borneo Armed Constabulary who are still living.
This week, Kyagulanyi also sought to amend his petition and introduced other grounds. He contends that as an incum-bent, Museveni was not supposed to take part in the January 14 presidential election.
“Contrary to Articles 102 (2) (b) and 219 of the Constitution of the Republic of Uganda as amended and S. 4 (b) of the Presidential Elections Act as amended, the 1st Respondent [Museveni] was not qualified for election as president while in the office of head of state, head of government, commander in chief and chairperson of the National Security Council,” Kyagulanyi contends.

Kenya Police Makes Changes in Ongoing Mass Recruitment

In an advertisement carried out in the local dailies on Tuesday, February 9, the service indicated that the changes, mostly in recruitment centers, were necessitated by logistical concerns.
The notice showed that the most affected cadre was that of Police Constables with 12 counties suffering the changes in recruitment centers. This is to bring to the attention of the public that information on recruitment of the Police Constables in the following areas has been clarified with additional centers provided purely on logistical reasons.

Bobi Wine amends election petition

National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu aka Bobi Wine has amended the election petition challenging the outcome of the just-concluded presidential race.
According to results released by the Electoral Commission, Yoweri Kaguta Tibuhaburwa Museveni, the incumbent and candidate of the National Resistance Movement (NRM) party, a 58 per cent majority, against Kyagulanyi s score of 35 per cent in a race that attracted 11 candidates. But in the amended petition filed in the Supreme court, Kyagulanyi contends that as an incumbent, Museveni was ineligible to take part in the January 14, presidential election. Kyagulanyi states Museveni was not qualified for election as president while in the office of the Head of State, Head of Government, Commander in Chief and chairperson of the National Security Council.

The National Police Service Commission has announced a massive recruitment exercise where it seeks to employ 4,700 Kenyans to be trained as Police Constables.
