Police seek hit-and-run driver after pedestrian killed in Denver crash courtesy and last updated 2021-01-16 14:38:27-05 DENVER – Police in Denver are asking for the public’s help in locating a hit-and-run driver following a fatal crash involving a pedestrian Friday night. Around 10:22 p.m., a pedestrian crossing the street near the intersection of South Federal Blvd. and West Arkansas Ave. was struck by an SUV. Police said the pedestrian was struck after falling as they attempted to cross the street. The driver fled northbound on South Federal Blvd. after the collision. The pedestrian, whose identity was not released, was transported to the hospital where they later succumbed to their injuries.

Kimberly Cottle, 45, was arrested Thursday near Reno, Nevada by local law enforcement. She is being held for investigation of first-degree murder, tampering with a deceased body, identity theft, aggravated motor vehicle theft, theft, and unlawful use of a financial transaction device. Police accuse Cottle of shooting and killing her boyfriend, 42-year-old Eusivio Luevano, and then burying his body in the backyard of a home in the 4700 block of North Fillmore Street in Denver.

The first shooting occurred in the 700 block of South Umatilla Street, according to DPD tweet sent at 3:05 a.m. Sunday. Two adult males sustained non-life threatening injuries. Both victims were treated at a local hospital. No arrests were made. Around 12:30 p.m., police tweeted they were investigating a second shooting in the 1000 block of West 14th Avenue. An adult male was shot and killed in the second shooting. No suspect information was released.
