+ April 22, 2021 POLICE in Eastern Visayas arrested 177 wanted persons and 171 other offenders in seven-day operations across the region from April 11 to 17, 2021.
“Despite the scourging threat of the coronavirus disease, let us remain steadfast in our peace and order efforts,” said Brigadier General Ronaldo De Jesus, director of Police Regional Office-Eastern Visayas.
Out of the 177 wanted persons, authorities arrested 21 most wanted from the region, provincial, municipal, and city station level, according to police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Ma. Bella Rentuaya.
The intensified implementation of special laws during the seven-day operations resulted in the arrest of 103 personalities involved in illegal fishing, five in illegal logging, 50 illegal gambling and 13 drug suspects.
IGP orders cops to monitor proscribed outfits

PESHAWAR: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sanaullah Abbasi on Tuesday directed the police high-ups to keep a close eye on proscribed organisations and the anti-state elements.
An official handout said that he was presiding over a high-level meeting at the Central Police Office here. He directed the cops to pre-empt and prevent the nefarious designs of the terrorists with the active support and coordination of other law-enforcing agencies.
Commandant Elite Force, Additional IGP HQRs, DIG Inquiry and Inspection, CCPO Peshawar, DIG Special Branch, DIG Investigation, DIG CTD attended the meeting while the Regional Police Officers participated via video link from their respective regions.
CCPO inquires after injured cops

LAHORE: CCPO Ghulam Mahmood Dogar Monday visited the house of injured Nawankot DSP who was made hostage along with other members of LEAs and tortured by the workers of a religious party. DIG Operations, SSP Admin and other senior police officers accompanied him. CCPO presented the DSP with a bouquet and a financial relief cheque. The DSP informed the CCPO about kidnapping details and torture by the proscribed party activists.

LAHORE: The Punjab Home Department has decided to prepare recommendations for making amendments to the Police Order 2002 for assigning the Punjab government the authority of promoting provincial police officers to grade 18 and above.
According to a copy of the official documents, available with this correspondent, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) has formed a committee comprising Police Wing officers, which will finalise recommendations and submit to the Punjab Assembly. The step has been taken on special recommendations of the Punjab Assembly Special Committee about the promotion of Provincial Police Service officers, hired through the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC), and resolution of their issues.
