with Mariana Alfaro In a prime-time address on Monday, after the electoral college affirmed that he is the president-elect, Joe Biden thanked the state and local Republican officials who showed “absolute courage” in resisting President Trump’s pressure that they overturn the results of the election by pretending there was widespread fraud. “While we all wish that our fellow Americans in these positions will always show such courage and commitment to free and fair elections, I hope we never again see anyone subjected to the kind of threats and abuse we saw in this election,” Biden said. “We owe these public servants a debt of gratitude. They didn’t seek the spotlight, and our democracy survived because of them.”

Following the Electoral College votes that took place across all 50 U.S. states and Washington, D.C., on Monday, President-elect Joe Biden addressed the nation in a speech that acknowledged the many ways in which President Donald Trump tried to discredit and overturn the results of the 2020 presidential race.
“In America, politicians don’t take power, people grant power to them,” Biden said in his speech. “The flame of democracy was lit in this nation a long time ago. And we now know nothing, not even a pandemic or an abuse of power can extinguish that flame.”
Trump: Dominion Audit Shows ‘Fake Election’
President Donald Trump says the forensics report on Dominion machines shows the election results are wrong.
He tweeted: “This is BIG NEWS. Dominion Voting Machines are a disaster all over the Country. Changed the results of a landslide election. Can’t let this happen.” He shared a post containing the report on social media.
In another post, he writes “Many Trump votes were routed to Biden … This Fake Election can no longer stand.”
The report alleges Dominion was designed for fraud on purpose.
It reads: “We conclude that the Dominion Voting System is intentionally and purposefully designed with inherent errors to create systemic fraud and influence election results.”
