UMass hockey taking National Championship trophy on summer ballpark tour >UMass will take its national championship trophy on a tour of New England ballparks over the course of the next few weeks. CHRIS TUCCI/UMASS ATHLETICS Staff Reports The UMass hockey program is taking its show on the road. The Minutemen will show off their 2021 national championship trophy on a summer ballpark tour of New England diamonds. The trophy will hit five New England ballparks, beginning July 31 at the Valley Blue Sox MacKenzie Stadium and culminating with a trip to Fenway Park for a Boston Red Sox game Sept. 6. August will feature trophy tour stops at Bullens Field in Westfield, home of the Westfield Starfires (Aug. 3), Polar Park in Worcester, home of the Worcester Red Sox (Aug. 12) and Dunkin’ Donuts Park in Hartford, home of the Hartford Yard Goats (Aug. 19). The national championship trophy will be available for photo opportunities at all stops of the tour, excluding Fenway Park.
