2 people who stole some orange mountain bikes from a store in Capitola are being sought. Each “Specialized” brand Turbo Levo SL Bike is valued at about $10,000. They were said to have been taken from a store on 41st Avenue between Portola Drive and Bain Avenue. Anyone with information on these thefts is encouraged to contact the Capitola Police Department or the Santa Cruz County Sheriff’s Office.

SAN FRANCISCO A reporter for a local news station in San Francisco was robbed at gun point last week while filming a television segment on crime taking place inside the city. The segment came in response to residents complaining that vehicle burglaries have been increasing near a city landmark ever since the early days of the pandemic when local officials closed the road that was used to access the area’s vista point.
“On Wednesday afternoon, the smash-and-grabs turned into armed robbery,” CBS San Francisco reported. “KPIX 5 reporter Don Ford was on the story Tuesday and again on Wednesday, and was preparing to interview nearby homeowners when a white luxury sedan with four men inside pulled up.”

San Francisco resident Brad Tardy was preparing for an interview with KPIX-TV news reporter Don Ford on Wednesday for a story on crime in his Twin Peaks neighborhood when they were robbed at gunpoint.
As they were standing at Twin Peaks Boulevard and Burnett Avenue in the middle of the afternoon, a white luxury car with four men pulled up next to them and three men hopped out, one of them holding a gun, KPIX reported. He points it right at Don, Tardy said. He says, I’m taking this camera. We all stood there, frozen for a little bit. One of the other guys grabbed the camera.
