Former Acadiana cop convicted of sex crime in New Mexico and last updated 2021-04-05 19:06:49-04 Leon Boudreaux, a former Acadiana law enforcement officer, has been convicted of a sex crime in New Mexico. Back in 2019, we told you about Boudreaux s arrest in Raton on three sex charges. Since that time, two of the charges were dismissed for lack of evidence, but in February the remaining charge went to trial. According to public records obtained by KATC Investigates, a jury convicted Boudreaux of that charge in February. He now faces up to three years in prison for the charge, which is a third-degree felony. The state accused Boudreaux of having sex with a teenage girl against her will, and the jury agreed he was guilty. A risk assessment was ordered by the court; sentencing will be set when that pre-sentence report is complete, records show.

Former St Landry deputy convicted of incest; attorney wants new trial

A former St. Landry Parish sheriff s deputy was convicted in New Mexico of incest after he had sex with a teenage relative. Leon Boudreaux was found guilty after a jury trial last month, according to court filings. He faces up to three years in prison, his attorney, Lisa Torraco, said in an email. Boudreaux was facing three counts  one count of incest and two counts of first-degree criminal sexual penetration, when a victim is forced or coerced and suffers bodily harm or mental anguish. But the two rape charges were dropped by a judge in November after Torraco argued there was no factual basis to support them and the judge said prosecutors didn t provide supporting evidence.
