Warrnambool City Council Signs On For Emissions Reduction Project Warrnambool City Council is one of 46 Victorian Councils to sign on to VECO, the Victorian Energy Collaboration, the largest ever emissions reduction project by local government in Australia. VECO, led by Darebin City Council in Melbourne’s north, will provide 45 per cent of all Victorian Councils’ electricity requirements with 100 per cent renewables, reducing greenhouse emissions by 260,000 tonnes of C02-e every year. Held during National Volunteer Week, WOW Day encourages the public to dress in orange as a show of thanks for the invaluable contribution VICSES volunteers make to the community. Article continues below In the past 12 months, Barwon South West VICSES volunteers responded to nearly 2,700 requests for assistance which included 1,341 downed trees; 438 damaged buildings; 187 road rescue incidents; over 350 flood calls, and more than 230 requests to assist other agencies including Victoria Police. The busiest units in the region were South Barwon (463); Bellarine (312); and Warrnambool (281).

Man charged over fatal - 95 3 Coast FM - Local / National News

Driver remanded in custody following fatal crash Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives have charged a man following a fatal collision in Carranballac, east of Lake Bolac, on May 12. Detectives arrested the 30-year-old man of no fixed place of abode Saturday. He was charged with dangerous driving causing death and remanded in custody to appear before the Melbourne Magistrates’ Court Sunday.
