Pending legislation could push area boaters off the Willamette March 04 2021
Proposed bills would restrict towing sports, including in the popular Newberg Pool section of the river
Oregon House Bill 2555 is directly tied to a 20-mile stretch of the Willamette River, but if passed, its ripple effects could be felt as far as Hagg Lake in rural Washington County.
The proposed legislation is aimed at the Newberg Pool and would restrict towing people on wakeboards, wake surfers and inner tubes to name a few to boats not exceeding 4,000 pounds.
The Newberg Pool is the part of the Willamette River roughly between Newberg and Willamette Falls in Oregon City. It is a popular place for area boaters.

La Real Taqueria expands to Newberg site February 20 2021
After getting its start in Tigard, the taco truck is adding to its fleet along Highway 99W
A popular late-night destination among Tigard residents before the pandemic and still a staple of indulgent Mexican cuisine during the pandemic La Real Taqueria is expanding its reach in the Willamette Valley by opening a location in Newberg. La Real serves its take on cheesy, meaty, flavorful concoctions that pay homage to owner Erick Sánchez s roots in Jalisco, Mexico. Newberg was a perfect location for us, Sánchez said. We opened up the first location in Tigard about three years ago, and we had been looking for a second location. We decided to go for it and establish a location in Newberg, and the turnout has been good so far.
