Announcing a new article publication for
Forensic Sciences Research journal. In this review article the author Ricardo Jorge Dinis-Oliveira of the University Institute of Health Sciences (IUCS)-CESPU, Gandra, Portugal continues a three-part investigation of the Crime of Flores Street one of the most famous cases of poisoning which occurred in Portugal in the late 19th century. The case demonstrated the weaknesses of the Portuguese medicolegal system and attests to the importance of toxicological analysis. The first article retold the case which gave birth to forensic toxicology studies in Portugal and informed present day Portuguese medicolegal procedures. The second article analysed all the relevant and contradictory testimonial evidence of the prosecution and defence witnesses.

Digital readiness course offered
The University of Hawaii Maui College’s Office of Extended Learning & Workforce Development will offer a free three-hour digital readiness course for Maui residents ages 18 and older from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays starting this week through June 22.
Students will learn basic computer operations and how to use the internet. They will also create an email account through which they will receive additional free online resources for improving their digital skills and more.

Portuguese language class for beginners
The Portuguese Association of Maui is offering an eight-week Portuguese language class for adult beginners from 4 to 6 p.m. starting May 13 at Heritage Hall in Paia.
Entertainment workers to strike
Demonstrations are set to take place in Lisbon as business owners in the itinerant entertainment sector demand a response from the government for resumption of activity, as they feel discriminated against.
