The Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad rocket attacks during the May 2021 hostilities, in which the two terror groups proudly boasted of firing over 4,300 rockets and other missiles against Israel’s towns and other civilian centers, generated an outpouring of international consternation and condemnation.
Israel’s defensive “Iron Dome” anti-missile defense system succeeded in intercepting over 90% of the incoming missiles. Had those rockets reached their civilian targets in towns throughout Israel, one can only imagine the number of fatalities, casualties, human suffering, and material damage that the willful, deliberate, and indiscriminate firing of over 4,000 rockets could have caused.

Introduction
Science of Military Strategy (战略学,
zhanlüe xue) (SMS), a core textbook for senior PLA officers on how wars should be planned and conducted at the strategic level. This article compares the 2020 version of this book with its last revision, in 2017, and finds that the former contains new details on wartime political work, “intelligentization” concepts, China’s military strategic guidelines, major war operations, joint logistics and the People’s Armed Police. It should be a go-to reference for those seeking to understand Chinese military thinking as it is currently explained to PLA officers themselves.

The Combined Air & Space Operations Center’s Combat Operations Division
WASHINGTON: The Air Force’s Kessel Run coding ‘factory’ has just fielded new software to speed targeting by the service’s far-flung Air Operations Centers aimed at supporting Joint All-Domain Command and Control (JADC2).
“This is a huge milestone for Kessel Run, ACC and our users,” said Col. Brian Beachkofski, commander of Kessel Run. “Only a year after delivering stand-alone applications to support operations, we’ve fielded an MVP suite of nine applications connected by a common data layer for usability assessment and user feedback.”
