Nagaon (Assam) [India], April 1 (ANI): Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will form government in Assam by winning more than 75 seats in the state, said former Minister of State (MoS) for Railways Rajen Gohain after casting his vote at a polling booth in Nagaon during the second phase of elections in Assam on Thursday. BJP will get over 35 seats out of the total 47 in the first phase. In the second phase too, we will get many seats. BJP will undoubtedly form the government in the state with more than 75 seats, said BJP leader Gohain.
Silchar (Assam)[India], April 1 (ANI): Assam recorded a voter turnout of 38.08 per cent till 1.10 pm across 39 constituencies in 13 districts during the second phase of the state assembly polls, according to the Election Commission (EC).

Hojai (Assam)[India], April 1 (ANI): Assam recorded a voter turnout of 22.85 per cent till 11.20 am across 39 constituencies in 13 districts during the second phase of the state assembly polls, according to the Election Commission (EC).
The Rangia constituency in the state has witnessed the highest voting percentage with a voter turnout of 35.58 per cent till 11.18 am, while the Lumding constituency witnessed the lowest voting percentage with a voter turnout of just 8.67 per cent each.

Over 73.44 lakh voters will exercise their franchise in 10,592 polling stations spread over 13 districts in the Barak Valley, the hill regions and parts of central and lower Assam
Polling began at 7 am on Thursday for 39 seats in the second phase of assembly elections in Assam amid tight security, officials said. The fate of 345 candidates, including 26 women, is being decided by over 73.44 lakh voters in this phase. Among those contesting the elections in this phase are five ministers and the deputy speaker of the outgoing House.
