Rt Hon Abdulkarim Lawan, the Speaker of the Borno State House of Assembly, on Monday, said terrorists are in full control of the Guzamala Local Government Area of the State.
Lawan faulted the claim made by Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information, and Gen Gabriel Olonisakin, the immediate past Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), that all the 27 Local Government Areas in the State have been liberated.
He said troops are not in control as claimed by Mohammed and Olonisakin, stressing that the entire Guzamala Local Government area where he hailed from, is still under the control of Boko Haram sect.

The Speaker of Borno State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Abdulkarim Lawan, on Monday, faulted claims made by Minister of Information, Lai Mohammed and the immediate past Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) Gen Gabriel Olonisakin that all the 27 Local Government Areas in the state have been liberated from the hands of Boko Haram sect and fully under the control of Military Troops.
Lawan said that the entire Guzamala Local Government Area where he hails from is still under the control of Boko Haram sect.
He said, “there is no single existence of civil life in Guzamala, not to even talk of Military presence in the Council Headquarter and its surrounding communities, that are not dominated by armed Boko Haram Fighters.”

The Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has said that troops of Operation Tura Takaibango, a subsidiary Operation of Operation Lafiya Dole in the North-East, has continued to degrade the Boko Haram/Islamic State’s West Africa Province criminals as they eliminate more Boko Haram/ Islamic State West Africa Province terrorists in their enclaves at Chindila town in Yobe State and Mayankari in Borno State respectively.
This was disclosed by the Acting Director, Defence Media Operations (DMO), Brigadier General Benard Onyeuko.
According to the statement, the gallant troops of 233 Battalion located at Babangida on an aggressive clearance patrol had on January 25 this year made contact with Boko Haram criminals at Chindila village.
