Los Angeles, June 6 : Los Angeles County authorities said investigations were being conducted after videos emerged on social media showing Asian passengers were being slapped while travelling in the metro.
The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority said in a statement on Friday that it on June 3 took note of the Instagram video recording at least two Asian riders were separately attacked, reports Xinhua news agency.
The authority said it was working to gather more information about exactly when and where the assault occurred, and who filmed the footage, adding investigators would determine if the victims were singled out because of their race and the possibility that the incidents constitute hate crimes.

Man in head-on crash dies
An Erie man who was involved in a head-on crash on S. Telegraph Rd. early Saturday morning has died.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim as Tyler White. He was pronounced dead at a hospital Saturday afternoon.
The other driver, a 26-year-old woman who was operating a 2014 Ford Mustang, was driving in the opposite lane while passing another vehicle when the crash occurred. She remains hospitalized in fair condition. She apparently has improved after initially being reported in critical condition.
The sheriff’s department is withholding her identity pending further investigation and potential criminal charges being filed by the Monroe County Prosecutor’s Office.
