Cameron Tringale posted a mistake-free, 5-under 66 on Saturday – it included a 4-foot eagle putt at the par-5 12th, set up by a beautiful 3-wood from 262 yards – to wrestle away the 54-hole lead. He has plenty of company nearby as he looks to land his first PGA TOUR victory on Sunday. There are 10 players within two or fewer shots of his lead, and four more lurking only three shots behind.
The best part, at least for those without clubs in their hands? There is a great deal of drama awaiting at the finish line. Really, if the first three days have taught us a lesson, it is that anything –
BLAINE, Minn. (AP) Canadian Adam Hadwin missed the weekend cuts in his last three tournaments, continuing a disappointing stretch as he dropped to 120th in the FedEx Cup standings.
The 33-year-old from Abbotsford, B.C., has put himself in position to get back in contention for the playoffs with a strong run at the 3M Open.
Hadwin shot a 6-under 65 on Friday for a share of the lead with Ryan Armour at 10-under 132. Armour shot 65.
“I drove it really well today,” Hadwin said. “Wasn’t in any trouble, hit a lot of good quality iron shots. Again, fat sides of the hole, I gave myself opportunities. My speed control’s been really good. It’s been as stress-free a 65 as you’re going to have.”

Adam Hadwin of Canada and Ryan Armour each shot bogey-free, 6-under 65s Friday to move to 10-under 132 and share the 36-hole lead at the 3M Open at TPC Twin Cities in Blaine, Minn.
The pair leads four players by a stroke entering the weekend: Bo Hoag (second-round 66), Chez Reavie (67), Venezuela s Jhonattan Vegas (69) and Canada s Roger Sloan (69).
Armour sank four straight birdies on Nos. 11-14 to make his move up the leaderboard. Thanks to stellar iron shots, two of those birdies came from 6-foot putts, while he drained another from 41 feet out.

EDIT: Round two has ended with Canadian Adam Hadwin leading the way at -10, while Sloan now sits tied for second at -9.
Merritt’s own PGA golfer is in the lead at the 3M Open heading into the weekend.
The third-to-last event of the PGA Tour season is a crucial one for Roger Sloan, who currently sits in 147th place in the chase for the FedEx Cup. The top 125 players at the end of the season automatically secure their tour cards for the following year.
His current position tied for first at this week’s tournament, alongside Americans Bo Hoag and Chez Reavie, as well as Venezuelan Jhonattan Vegas, would vault Sloan up 96 slots to 51st place.
