It’s been five years since Dead Poet Society’s last full-length release,
Axiom, a claustrophobic and aggressive album that makes the listener feel like the walls are closing in. On their new album
-!-, however, we now see the walls closing in on
the band. Gone are the days of youth, arrogance, impunity and fearlessness for the L.A.-based foursome. Self-doubt, anxiety, unwanted introspection, consequences and regret are here to stay. That’s not to say that the band is down for the count. With a familiar bluesy and brash sound bleeding through, Dead Poet Society know in the world s chaos they’re going down with the ship, and will play their hearts out before they sink below the waves.

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Sia shares some cinematic music this week, alongside new releases from Florida Georgia Line, Pentatonix, the late Harry Dean Stanton and a buffed-up version of Dua Lipa’s sophomore album (all subject to change).
Album of the Week: The title says it all for Sia’s “Music Songs From and Inspired by the Motion Picture (Monkey Puzzle/Atlantic). The 14-song set, featuring collaboration with Burna Boy on the single “Hey Boy,” does double duty as the Australian pop auteur’s eighth studio album and the companion to her feature film directorial debut, which is up for a Golden Globe Award for Best Motion Picture Musical or Comedy.

We ve all seen a movie or TV show where one of the characters is stressed out because they feel like their life is crumbling before their eyes. How do they usually deal with that stress? Some cry it out, others go to the nearest pub for a drink. But, a lot of them let out their pent up frustrations by yelling or screaming.

The past year has been brutal for the film industry, but Australia could be on course for a memorable 2021 as the stars align in its favour.
With Prime Minister Scott Morrison pledging $400 million in filmmaking support, global production houses are enticed to head down under as the country opens up post-Covid. Universal Studios Group already announced in October that three major TV series would begin production in Queensland, and it’s not just big-money overseas projects taking advantage of Australia’s newfound opportunity.
