SAN FRANCISCO (BCN)
City officials on Thursday began the second phase of a massive housing project in the city s Potrero Hill neighborhood that aims to provide nearly 1,700 new or renovated affordable housing units and revitalize the area.
Phase 2 of the Potrero Hope SF project will consist of infrastructure improvements to support the development of two new residential buildings at a nearly 4-acre site at the Potrero Terrace and Potrero Annex public housing sites.
The ultimate goal of the entire project is to rebuild and create hundreds of dilapidated public housing units, as well as to construct an additional 800 market rate units to comprise a new mixed-income development, complete with retail shops, community facilities, and open space. The project is expected to be completed in five phases by 2035.
