Leagues, RSL clubs push for a digital wallet trial in major shift

Advertisement NSW’s largest RSL and leagues clubs will fast-track trials of digital wallets for poker machines in a move designed to appease the state government as it pushes ahead with controversial gaming reforms. The wallets will be introduced in several large leagues clubs within months as an alternative to a gaming card proposed by Customer Service Minister Victor Dominello. The technology could then be rolled out more widely but would not be made compulsory. The digital wallet would be rolled out in coming months among the state’s larger clubs. Credit:Peter Braig Mr Dominello’s proposed card was widely opposed by clubs and pubs as well as some of his cabinet colleagues, including Deputy Premier John Barilaro, who vowed to never support a gambling card.

New Gambling Care Charity Established By Gibraltar Regulator Published March 13, 2021 by Sol FH The Gibraltar Betting and Gaming Association (GBGA) has taken a major step in lessening gambling harm and at-risk gamblers. The Gibraltar Gaming Care Foundation (GGCF), funded by the CBGA has been established to combat the challenging side-effects of problem gambling. The Foundation will work with players, operators, gaming industry leaders, and even government regulators to lessen the impact of gambling disorders, within the local market.  The Foundation will operate on its own, independent from the CBGA, in partnership with local councilors Selvan Soobiah and Stephen Reyes. Acting as a corporate counselor and an initial funder of research is the Belvedere Trustees Limited. The new initiative will be at the University of Gibraltar and will be called the Centre of Excellence in Responsible Gaming (CERG).

Iceberg has coined the term ‘Ladbroke It’, which is all about turning up the dial on excitement and entertainment. The ‘Ladbroke It’ campaign will run nationally in Australia throughout the year across broadcast, print, digital, social and out of home platforms. Says Jim Ingram, National Chief Creative Tinker at Thinkerbell: “Part of our creative challenge was literally this: Use Mark Wahlberg to help us make racing even more exciting. Cue big shiny red Harley Davidson Horse and a dancing ATM.
