Corrections officers at county jail will receive body cameras

Guernsey County commissioners on Monday approved a three-year contract with Axon to provide high-resolution body cameras for corrections officers at the county jail.
The county will lease the body cameras while Axon provides maintenance services and video storage at a cost of approximately $10,000 a year. This will help ensure the county against liability by clearly documenting every encounter between the jail staff and an inmate at the county jail, said Commissioner Dave Wilson.
Axon currently provides cameras and video storage for road deputies in the county.
