Multiple reports of postal vote fraud in Totteridge have been made to Thames Valley Police. Since Thursday, April 15, the force have received reports of individuals going door-to-door in Totteridge encouraging people to vote by post and collecting postal ballots. An investigation into these reports is being carried out. Investigating officer, Detective Constable Katie Taylor, of the Economic Crime Unit, said: “It is paramount that we protect the integrity of the vote and we are taking these reports extremely seriously. “I am appealing for any witnesses to this, or anyone who has any information, to please come forward. “Further, if you believe this has happened to you, please report this to us.

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of firearm offences after armed police descended on the main road outside a GMP building.
At around 7pm this evening, April 28, officers carried out a pre-planned operation in Ashton-under-Lyne, which led to two men being apprehended.
Witnesses reported seeing a white pick-up vehicle stopped at the side of the road, with officers searching the vehicle whilst a man was detained.

Police have recently received numerous reports from residents across Northern Ireland stating that they have been contacted by people claiming to be officers.
Residents said they asked to withdraw money from their accounts and hand over bank cards, jewellery and other valuables.
Detective Inspector Joanne Harris from the Economic Crime Unit said, “Over recent days, we have seen an increase in the number of scams reported to us where fraudsters pose as police officers.
“Unfortunately, this has resulted in people losing large sums of money and valuables with some people being told they need to leave money in an envelope outside their house to be collected.
