POMONA (CNS) - The 21-year-old driver of an SUV that crashed and overturned tonight in Pomona was arrested after officers found the man was carrying an unregistered and un-serialized gun.
Police responded about 9:25 p.m. to the area of Towne and Philadelphia avenues and found an SUV on its side, according to Cpl. Paul Lucifora of the Pomona Police Department.
When officers looked inside the SUV to ensure everyone was out of the wrecked vehicle, they noticed ammunition throughout the inside of the SUV and conducted a pat down search driver Jeremy Duran of Adelanto, and found the illegal weapon in his waistband, Lucifora said.

About 9 p.m. Tuesday, officers learned that someone was living and hanging out in a very well-built and modern tree house in Ganesha Hills, according to a police statement. The tree house was disguised, nestled into a tree in the hills just off McKinley Avenue.
Julio Loza, a resident of the area, found the situation very puzzling. I wasn t aware he was living 100 feet from my house, Loza said.
The police department s air and K-9 units were deployed. The helicopter s heat-sensing FLIR system detected something in the heavy brush and trees in the area where officers were searching and a short time later, they found the tree house, which was hidden deep into the hillside, police said.
A man accused of killing a woman in the presence of their two children during a struggle over a handgun amid a domestic dispute is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow at the Pomona courthouse.
