An attack on a Humberside Police officer at a has been condemned as ‘shocking and senseless’ by Home Secretary Priti Patel.
The officer is in hospital with serious injuries after being attacked at the Castle Education site in Scunthorpe on Friday afternoon.
A 15-year-old boy and a 23-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

Two Nottinghamshire men were involved in a plot to import a metric ton of cannabis into the UK by yacht via Morocco and a boat but the plan was thwarted by lockdown restrictions.
SENIOR partner at The Raj Indian restaurant Anhar Miah said he was surprised to win business of the year at the Warrington Guardian Lockdown Heroes awards and ‘very honoured’. Dr Hilary asked how Anhar had managed during a time when the hospitality industry had been amongst the worst affected by the lockdown restrictions. Anhar said: “We have been here 22 years and even during the pandemic our customers have supported us. “I think what we have done is a fraction of what they have done supporting us for those 22 years. “When the virus first started in lockdown, everyone was struggling and so we thought we should do our little bit.”
