IPOH, Feb 17 Five senior citizens were among 14 men detained for alleged involvement in illegal cockfight gambling, in a gated farm land at Taman Impiana Adril, Menglembu here yesterday.
Ipoh district police chief ACP A. Asmadi Abdul Aziz said the men, aged between 25 and 71, were detained at 11.45am during an operation dubbed Op Limau conducted by the Ipoh IPD operational intelligence team.

BUKIT MERTAJAM, Feb 13 Police nabbed 18 individuals including two women for gambling at a factory in Jalan Pengkalan Bukit Tengah, here and seized RM184,700 cash today.
Seberang Perai Tengah district police chief ACP Shafee Abd Samad said acting on information and intelligence, police raided the factory at 4.45 pm and arrested the suspects aged between 17 and 82.
“During the raid, we arrested 14 local men, a Taiwanese national, a 17-year-old Hong Kong boy and two Chinese national women who were gambling at the factory. One of the detainees was the owner of the factory and the police also seized RM4,700 placed on the gambling table and confiscated a total of RM180,000 cash from the suspects,” he said in a statement today.
