CDWP Gives Go-ahead to Projects Worth Billions
The Planning Commission’s Central Development Working Party (CDWP), in a meeting, presided over by the Deputy Chairman Planning Commission, Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan, cleared a development project with an estimated cost of Rs. 5 billion, and recommended one project worth Rs. 191.47 billion to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) for further consideration.
Senior officials from the Planning Commission and Federal Ministries/Divisions also attended the meeting, and representatives from the provincial governments attended video conferences.

A project related to Health, called ‘Strengthening of Existing DHQs, and selected THQs, RHCs, BHUs in District Awaran, Washuk, Khuzdar, Lesbela, Panjgur, Gwadar and Kech (Less Developed areas of the Balochistan)’ worth Rs. 4996.60 million was approved in the meeting.

FAIRFAX, Va., April 26, 2021 /PRNewswire/ The Government of Puerto Rico s Public Private Partnership Authority (P3) recently awarded global consulting and digital services provider ICF (NASDAQ: ICFI) a new $46 million contract that includes elements of ICF s previous work to provide project formulation services to support long-term disaster recovery from hurricanes Irma and María and hazard mitigation efforts to protect against future disasters.
The contract, which is administered by the Central Office for Recovery, Reconstruction and Resiliency (COR3), includes an initial four-month term through June 30, 2021, plus two additional one-year options to extend.

The Public Private Partnership Authority (PPPA) board on Wednesday approved the provision of Rs92 billion from the budget and through toll charges to make the Hyderabad-Sukkur motorway project financially viable and attractive for private parties.
Based on the new financing structure, the cost of the project may jump from the originally approved Rs165 billion a year ago to Rs201 billion. Minister for Planning and Development Asad Umar chaired the PPPA board meeting.

ISLAMABAD: The government on Wednesday agreed to bridge the funding gap of an estimated Rs175 billion worth of Sukkur-Hyderabad motorway project ensilaged under public-private partnership mode.
Public Private Partnership Authority (PPPA) took the decision during a meeting presided over by Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Asad Umar.
âWe authorised the viability gap fund and transaction structure for the Sukkur-Hyderabad motorway project,â Umar wrote on Twitter.
Sukkur-Hyderabad Motorway (M-6), , a critical component of China-funded economic corridor, is expected to be 306 kilometers long, six-lane wide, access-controlled motorway, which starts from the end of M-9 that connects Hyderabad to Karachi via the 136km long 6-lane motorway and ends at the beginning of 392km long and 6-lane Sukkur-Multan Motorway (M-5).
