American Eagle Financial Credit Union President and CEO Announces Retirement

EAST HARTFORD, Conn. American Eagle Financial Credit Union (AEFCU) announced that Dean Marchessault, the nonprofit organization’s president and CEO, will retire at the end of 2021, allowing for a transition process over the next seven months. Marchessault’s decision to retire will conclude 22 years of service to Connecticut’s largest community credit union, including seven as president and CEO.

During the fall of 2020, more than three dozen Greater Hartford artists, ages 13-19, submitted to the Hartford Foundation a variety of creative projects which reflected their energy and emotions during the pandemic. The artwork – in an array of art forms, including paintings, drawings, sculptures, poems and music – were subsequently featured at the Foundation’s annual stakeholder event and in a virtual gallery on the organization[’s website. Hartford Board of Education appoints three new members Jessika Harkay, Hartford Courant
Making parents feel heard, breaking barriers and ensuring experiences aren’t repeated are some of the goals the three new Hartford Board of Education appointees hope to instill.
Yvette Bello, Pastor AJ Johnson and James Shmerling have been appointed to fill three board positions on the nine-member board. Eight of the nine representatives are people of color, reflecting the community it serves where 92% of students in the Hartford Public Schools District don’t identify as white.
The three members were appointed at the City Council meeting Monday and will be sworn in as board members on May 18.
