The HSE is urging people in Louth and Meath to protect Leaving Certificate students in the run up to next month s examinations.
The Department of Public Health North East says the majority of Covid-19 cases in schools in the region have been linked to infections outside the school environment.
It says a number of gatherings and birthday parties are being organised in the two counties, which are becoming super spreader events for the virus.
People are being asked to limit their social contacts and avoid gatherings to protect students from exposure to Covid-19 ahead of the exams which begin on June 9th.
Two more walk in Covid testing centres are opening in County Donegal.
One is located at the GAA Centre of Excellence in Convoy, which will open on Saturday, Sunday and Monday, while the centre at the GAA club in Carndonagh will open on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday next week.

Plans are being cosidered for a walk-in Covid test centre in Letterkenny.
The Director of Public Health North West has confirmed that the centre may be operational in the coming days with people able to present for a test without a GP referral.
Donegal s 14 day incidence rate of the virus is the highest in the country at 204.2 cases per 100,000 people.
Dr Anthony Breslin says evidence shows that socialising remains one of the main causes of the spread of Covid in the county.

People in the North West are being urged to get tested for Covid 19 if they develop symptoms.
In a statement this afternoon, HSE Public Health North West is urging people to continue to follow Covid guidance, and to contact their GP or out of hours service immediately if they develop symptoms.
The region s Director of Public Health Dr Anthony Breslin says cases have not decreased as much as expected, and outbreaks are occurring at schools, workplaces and among families.
If you develop symptoms, Dr Breslin said, get tested via your GP and if you are at work or in school leave and get tested. Do not stay on at work or school if you are ill. Please reduce socialising.
