CORE has been working on the frontlines of the COVID-19 pandemic since March 2020 and has the operational and logistical know-how to reach marginalized and vulnerable communities. CORE has administered more than five million COVID-19 tests and one million COVID-19 vaccines. Currently, CORE GA is working to bring mobile vaccine units to increase COVID-19 vaccine access in South-Central Georgia.

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (TNN) - Getting as many shots into arms as possible, that’s been the phrase health leaders have repeated endlessly since COVID-19 vaccines became widely available.
But over the last month, vaccination rates in Wichita County have slowed down. Mason Brighton took a look at how the Wichita Falls-Wichita County Public Health District is responding.
“We have more vaccines in house than we have individuals on our waiting list,” said , Lou Kreidler, Director of Health at the WC-WF Public Health District.
The Abilene-Taylor County Public Health District reported Wednesday one COVID-19-linked death, 10 new cases of the coronavirus and seven recoveries.
The deceased – a man in his 70s – brings the county s total number of deaths connected to COVID-19 to 402. The average age of the deceased is 75.
In April, Taylor County has reported 14 COVID-19-linked deaths, compared to 39 in March and 70 in February. The record of 87 was set in December.
Of the 10 new cases, three were confirmed via polymerase chain reaction tests.
Active cases total 217 (108 PCR cases and 109 cases confirmed by antigen tests). A week ago, active cases numbered 162.
COVID-19 inpatients at Abilene hospitals total 16, the same as Tuesday. The average age of the inpatients is 58, and seven live outside Taylor County.
