RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif., May 13, 2021 /PRNewswire/ Seventeen local students will join Inland Empire Health Plan s (IEHP) community health team this summer in a new internship program focused on community program research and development.
In this mutually-beneficial program, students will work hands-on with health plan staff to support the region s most vulnerable residents through the development of public health program curricula, analytical data support and more.
In this program, student interns will learn the correlation between practical problems and public health issues, make connections between health services and social determinants of health, and will have the chance to work with IEHP Team Members at all levels to understand the dynamic flow involved in providing health care to more than 1.4 million Members. Every year, Maine Public Health Association honors excellence in public health by awarding distinctions to organizations and individuals who make a difference in public health in Maine. This year, the Knox Clinic will receive the Phebe Conrey King Access to Healthcare Award for its efforts to reduce health disparities in Maine through access to comprehensive health care for all.

Dakota Conference on Rural and Public Health June 2-4 Will Be Virtual

Grand Forks – The 36th Annual Dakota Conference on Rural and Public Health, taking place June 2-4, will be presented virtually. Registration is now open with reduced fees. The conference includes four keynote addresses, 18 sessions, eight intensive sessions, and a legislative policy panel. Continuing education credits will be available. For participants registered for the full conference, there will be a limited number of enduring credits available for one year after the conference, and all presentation recordings will be available.
The Dakota Conference provides an opportunity for healthcare professionals, educators, and students to share strategies for building and sustaining healthy communities in North Dakota. It includes two and one half days of pre- and post-conference meetings, keynote speakers, breakout sessions, poster presentations, and an awards banquet.

I had been in his presence before, but this felt different. I had been working for years doing communications around the gift and construction of the Eli and Edythe Broad Art Museum at MSU. It all had been exciting a huge gift, an architect competition, the selection of a Pritzker Prize-winning designer and finally the construction of this unique, somewhat jarring, angled building in a place where it didn’t seem to fit.
Along the way, I had casual contact with Eli and Edythe Broad. But, on that night in 2012, I was going to be part of a very small party accompanying them as they toured the museum bearing their name for the first time. I considered it an incredible privilege to witness the pure delight apparent on their faces and learn more about the building they brought to life.
