Fiji receives more testing equipment for COVID-19
Format
Suva, Fiji – Additional COVID-19 testing equipment was handed over at the Fijian Centre for Disease Control (CDC) today. The equipment, including four new GeneXpert machines and kits of reagents that are essential for COVID-19 testing, had been procured with support from the Pacific Community, UNICEF and the World Health Organization (WHO).
Amid the detection of a string of locally transmitted cases over the past week, Dr. Ifereimi Waqainabete, Minister for Health and Medical Services says this will further boost their work in identifying COVID-19 transmission.
The type of test this equipment supports – known as a real-time polymerase chain reaction or ‘PCR’ test – is the most accurate form of testing currently available for COVID-19.
The Wyoming Department of Health (WDH) is announcing a mistaken exposure of laboratory test result data involving the health information of thousands of Wyoming residents and others, as well as describing its plan to respond. The WDH confirmed however, affected files did NOT contain social security numbers, or banking, financial or health insurance information.
The department became aware of a breach involving protected health information on March 10, 2021. It was discovered a workforce member inappropriately handled the health information of approximately 164,021 Wyoming residents and others as early as November 5, 2020.

The incident involves an unintentional exposure of 53 files containing COVID-19 and influenza test result data and one file containing breath alcohol test results. These files were mistakenly uploaded by a WDH Public Health Division workforce member to private and public online storage locations, known as repositories, on servers belonging to GitHub

More Solano vaccine supply means an inoculation push this week
FAIRFIELD Solano County received additional doses of Covid-19 vaccine this week, and with the Johnson & Johnson vaccine cleared for use, the Public Health Division is gearing up for a rush of clinics.
The effort, which will include resuming homeless and in-jail vaccinations, comes as the county’s daily case numbers show no indication of getting Solano into the less restrictive orange tier.
There were 134 new cases since Friday’s update, a three-day daily average of 44.67 cases and a pandemic total of 32,313, the county reported.
