Covid-19 infection rate drops in Bromsgrove

Worcestershire s rate of infection has also started to stabilise according to health bosses. In the week leading up to January 21 the rate of infection in Bromsgrove was 422.5 per 100 people. There were 422 recorded cases. This is significantly lower than the figures recorded in the previous week leading up to January 14. The rate was 572.7 per 100 people and there were 572 positive cases. Nearby Redditch now has the 17th highest Covid rate in England. Last week, health bosses urged employers in Redditch to ensure their staff follow social distancing guidelines following a rise in positive cases. The virus rate in Redditch was 656.8 per 100,000 in the week leading up to January 21 - the latest data available. There were 560 positive cases recorded.

Plea to employers as Covid cases rise in Redditch

EMPLOYERS in Redditch are being urged to ensure their staff follow social distancing guidelines as positive cases of Covid-19 continue to rise.  While the rest of Worcestershire is beginning to see a stabilisation of its numbers of positive cases, the district is still climbing. The current rate of infection in Redditch is 691 per 100,000.  A high percentage of the cases in the last two weeks, around 80 per cent, are amongst working age people, many of whom are not able to work from home.  These key workers are in sectors such as manufacturing, child-care, supermarkets and healthcare. Employers are being urged to make sure staff keep to social distancing guidance at all times, including breaks and on the way into and out of work.

The Covid infection rate is still rising in Redditch THE coronavirus infection in Worcestershire is starting to stabilise, figures suggest, however cases are still high in some areas among the over-60s and working age people. Four out of six districts in Worcestershire have seen infection rates fall in the most recently recorded seven day period, however Redditch saw the biggest week-on-week rise in the entire country. In the seven days up to January 18, Redditch recorded an infection rate of 717.8, compared to a rate of 591.1 a week earlier. Worcester also saw a rise - from 676.7 to 687.6. Bromsgrove s most recent infection rate stood at 521.6, compared to 586.7 for the seven days to January 11.
