Messenger KUWAIT CITY, Feb 14: In reaction to what was published by the Al-Qabas newspaper and the video clips posted in the social media, the government moved to control the fish market, after seeing overcrowding, chaos and disrespect for physical distancing, reports Al-Qabas daily. Teams from the ministries of Commerce, Interior and the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition (PAFN) began their work and prevented individuals from entering the auction. The auction was limited to companies, and this has sent a feeling of discontent among the citizens demanding individuals be allowed to take part in the auction and forced to respect health requirements.

Messenger KUWAIT CITY, Feb 6: The Mubarak Al-Kabeer Governorate Inspection Department in the Public Authority for Food and Nutrition conducted a periodic tour to take random samples from several food establishments in Sabhan Industrial Area, reports Al-Rai daily. The tour resulted in the confiscation of about 700 kilograms of expired meat and uncovered violations such as failure to comply with the standard specifications. It also led to the issuance of citations for various violations like noncompliance with health regulations, incorrect preparation of foodstuffs, lack of commitment to public sanitation regulations, poor storage of foodstuffs, lack of commitment to health and technical requirements in some facilities, and failure to close sanitation chutes.

‘Nazaha’ points finger towards senior officials KUWAIT CITY, Jan 18: While the concerned State authorities are working together to stop corruption, Kuwait Anti- Corruption Authority (Nazaha) announced that about 90 new reports on corruption and suspicion of corruption in 37 government agencies were registered in 2020, reports Al-Qabas daily. The daily obtained a copy of Nazaha’s recent report stating that the Ministry of Health registered the highest number of reported corruption and suspicion of corruption cases with 11, followed by the Ministry of Awqaf with six. Nazaha received 12 suspicion of corruption reports involving different public institutions including the ministries of Electricity, Water, Interior, Public Works and Education; as well as Kuwait Municipality.
