Clubhouse is reportedly in talks to raise funding in a round that values the audio app at $4 billion just a year after it launched.
On Tuesday, founders Paul Davison and Rohan Seth spoke with NPR host Guy Raz on Clubhouse about how they built the app.

1. At one year old, Clubhouse has a user base bigger than the population of Pennsylvania.
Clubhouse has crossed 15 million first-time app installs worldwide, including 3.7 million installs in the US, according to the app analytics company SensorTower. If it was a state, Clubhouse would be the fifth largest state by population size, following California, Texas, Florida, and New York.

I donât really think online chat shows are a significant advance on a regular radio show. After two decades of significant hardware and software advances to tackle and disrupt most traditional forms of media though, it is not surprising that the extent of the disruption will be less and less.
The general trend has been to make channels available to everyone and for creators to become the centre of a media company rather than a media owner controlling the talent to service an audience.

After one year, audio-only social app Clubhouse is reportedly in talks for a $4 billion valuation.
But this is not the first buzzy app that cofounder Paul Davison created.
On How I Built This, he talked about the rise and fall of Highlight, his social app from 2011.
During a year without bars or parties, the tech social scene moved onto Clubhouse. The audio-based social app is only a year old but has already won over Silicon Valley and is in talks for a $4 billion valuation, according to Bloomberg.
