Facebook Says It Should Not Be Blamed For US Failing To Meet Vaccine Goals Facebook Says It Should Not Be Blamed For US Failing To Meet Vaccine Goals Facebook, in a corporate blog post, said the data shows that 85 per cent of Facebook users in the US have been or want to be vaccinated against COVID-19.
COVID-19 misinformation has spread during the pandemic on social media sites, including Facebook.
Washington:
Facebook on Saturday defended itself against US President Joe Biden s assertion that the social media platform is killing people by allowing misinformation about coronavirus vaccines to proliferate, saying the facts tell a different story.
These and other facts tell a very different story to the one promoted by the administration in recent days, Rosen wrote.
Rosen also pointed to the Biden administration s narrowly missed goal to vaccinate 70% of Americans by July 4, arguing that Facebook is not the reason this goal was missed.
The response from Facebook comes after the president, on the South Lawn of the White House on Friday, was asked what his message was to companies like Facebook with respect to Covid misinformation. In response to the question, Biden responded: They re killing people. I mean they really, look, the only pandemic we have is among the unvaccinated, and that s they re killing people, the president said, echoing earlier comments from White House press secretary Jen Psaki.

“Los datos muestran que el 85% de los usuarios de Facebook en Estados Unidos han sido vacunados o quieren vacunarse contra el COVID-19”, dijo Facebook en la publicación de un blog corporativo de Guy Rosen, un vicepresidente de la compañía.
“La meta del presidente Biden era que el 70% de los estadounidenses estuvieran vacunados al 4 de julio. Facebook no es la razón por la cual esa meta no se cumplió”.
