Subscriber only Offering an holistic and progressive approach to learning, a new school is set to break ground in Beerwah. Maleny Independent School (MIS) has decided to make the move down the mountain settling on the corner of Simpson St and Pine Camp Rd. The school is in its third year of operation with 22 students enrolled from Years 7 to 10. Principal Angie Kelly said it is important to offer an alternative for parents while still meeting the Australian and Queensland Curriculum requirements. Our focus is predominantly on personalised learning, Ms Kelly said. So, getting to understand who each of our learners is, what are their strengths, their gaps, what are their learning goals.
