BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) – The site for a new northeast Bend elementary school has been chosen, in one of the city’s newest, largest subdivisions now taking shape.
The Bend-La Pine School Board will be asked Tuesday evening ap approve the purchase of a 10-acre parcel for $2.88 million from Pahlisch Homes, developers of the Petrosa subdivision, which plans for 1,260 new homes.
Virtually Meet Two Bend-LaPine School Board Candidates
A virtual “meet and greet” is scheduled for two Bend-La Pine School Board candidates today. Megan Norris announced she has filed for the Zone 7 “at-large” seat, and Marcus LeGrand earlier filed for Zone 2 position. BEND, Ore. (KTVZ) The Bend-La Pine School Board voted unanimously Tuesday evening to pick Dr. Steve Cook as the district’s next superintendent. Cook, currently superintendent at Idaho s Coeur d’Alene School District, will begin on July 1, succeeding Interim Superintendent Lora Nordquist.
“Among an exceptional pool of candidates from across our nation, Dr. Cook rose to the top, said Carrie Douglass, board chair. During this search process, which began more than a year ago, our community came together to identify four key competencies that they wanted to see in a next superintendent.
