Obituary Share Irene Ann Umble (Hutchins) passed away at her home in Bangor on Oct. 31, 2020. She was born Sept. 14, 1954, in Saco, and was the eldest daughter of Clara (Brown) Hutchins and Herbert Hutchins. She was raised in Kennebunkport and graduated from Kennebunk High School in 1972. She then went on to graduate from the University of Maine in Orono with a degree in early childhood education. Over the years she studied and attained her masters of education in special education and early intervention. Irene put down her roots in Bangor, married and started a family welcoming two children. After Irene and her first husband divorced, she attended the Apostolic Lighthouse Church in Bangor where she met and married James Umble in 1988.

Jan 27, 2021 SALEM Barbara Joan “Bobbi Joe” Christopher, 78, died Monday, Jan. 25, 2021 at Salem Regional Medical Center. She was born Dec. 10, 1942 in Baltimore, Md., daughter of the late Donald and Barthelia (Bartelson) Barnes. Barbara graduated from Greene Dreher Sterling High School in 1960. Barbara was primarily a homemaker most of her life. She enjoyed flower and vegetable gardening where she turned their property into a gardener’s dream hosting garden club tours. Other interests included crafting dried flower arrangements, quilting, and braiding rugs. She also enjoyed spending time with friends and family. Survivors include her husband, John Christopher of Salem, whom she married May 13, 1961; brother, Donald (Yvonne) Barnes Jr. of Myrtle Beach; son, Jeffrey (Jennifer) Christopher of Salem; grandsons, Hunter Christopher of Salem and Cameron Christopher of Salem; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
