RCMP seize cocaine and arrest drug traffickers in ongoing investigation

Two individuals have recently been arrested in connection to an ongoing drug investigation led by the RCMP Manitoba West District Crime Reduction Enforcement Support Team (CREST).
On January 27, 2021, at approximately 7:10am, as part of an ongoing drug investigation, CREST, along with Winnipegosis RCMP and RCMP Police Dog Services, executed a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act warrant on a residence located in Pine Creek First Nation, Manitoba.
As a result of the search, officers seized approximately 50 grams of cocaine, 528 grams of hash, 1128 grams of shake (cannabis clippings), 242 grams of cannabis, an undisclosed amount of Canadian currency and drug trafficking paraphernalia.

A total of 234 new cases of the virus were reported in the Northern health region, along with 111 new cases in Winnipeg, 42 in Interlake-Eastern, 17 in Southern Health - Santé Sud and 34 cases in Prairie Mountain Health.
The province also announced six new fatalities related to the virus throughout that two-day period, one of which was a man in his 80s from PMH whose death is linked to the ongoing outbreak at the McCreary-Alonsa Health Centre.
