PINEY FLATS, TN - James Holliday Carico, age 76, of Piney Flats, Tennessee died Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Bristol Regional Medical Center.
His family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 pm on Sunday, January 31, 2021 at Morris-Baker Funeral Home. There will be a memorial service immediately following, at 3:00 pm, under the direction of Rev. Mike Richards. The memorial service will also be available to view on the Morris-Baker website, under Jamesâ obituary page, and it will be available to view for 90 days.

Roy Dean Brookshire
Roy Dean Brookshire, 82, was surrounded by family when he passed into the presence of the Lord on January 29, 2021, at Hospice of Chattanooga.
Roy was born to Joseph and Relia Moore Brookshire on May 1, 1938, in Elizabethton, Tn. He met his wife of 57 years, Joyce Trivett, in the second grade in Piney Flats, Tn., and they were happily married in November 1957. The newlyweds spent their honeymoon in Chattanooga, unaware at the time that it would later become their home of more than 50 years.
Roy and Joyce made their first home in Washington, D.C., where Roy worked for the Navy Department from 1956 to 1960. He attended George Washington University before moving to Bristol, Tenn., where he graduated from ETSU with a B.S. in accounting in 1963. Jan. 29, 1900: The Journal and Tribune, a newspaper in Knoxville and with a dateline of Johnson City, reported, âCapt. Ike T. Jobe, formerly of the United States volunteer infantry was captured at daylight at the residence of Chas. J. Faw, near Piney Flats, Sullivan county (sic), by a special government detective, and Deputy CW. McCall, of Knoxville. Jobe recently escaped from the Columbus, Ohio, jail, charged with using penalty envelopes from the war (sic) department (sic). Efforts to secure bail are being made.â
JOHNSON CITY - James William Sell, 81, of Johnson City, passed away on Sunday, January 24, 2021, at his home.
He was a lifelong resident of Washington County, and a son of the late Earl Walter and Jeanne Lyle Sell.
Jim took joy from his work as a cattle farmer, and pride in his work at Sell Meat Company alongside his wife. He was of the Christian Faith.
Those who survive him include: his sons, Jim Sell II and wife Kim, Joe Sell and wife Alina, all of Piney Flats; daughter, Rebecca Sell and friend Dick Shafter of Black Mountain, NC; three grandchildren, Katie Sell of Gainesville, FL, Emily Sell of Piney Flats, and Lexi Beys, also of Piney Flats; as well as many more family members and friends.
PINEY FLATS - Robert Lee Kelley, 74, Piney Flats passed away Sunday, January17, 2021 in the Johnson City Medical Center. He was a native of Kingsport and was the Son of the late Roy Kelley and Ruth Kelley. Bob had lived most of his life in Piney Flats.
Bob honorably served 24 years in the US Army during the Vietnam War through Dessert Storm. After his retirement he enjoyed spending time at his home on Boone Lake with friends and family riding his boat and Jet Ski with his grandkids. Bob loved to golf, he loved UT Football and especially enjoyed his trips fishing with his son, son-in-law and brother. He enjoyed traveling with his wife in their RV and camping trips with his family. One of his favorite trips several times a year was to Myrtle Beach where he and Judy enjoyed dancing on the beach. Bob had many grandchildren that he loved dearly and taught them all the love of cornhole. Bob also had a fur baby Buffy who meant everything to him.
