A controversial rezoning application for a light industrial operation on MacPherson Drive in East Ferris has been withdrawn.
Greg Kirton, manager of planning and economic development, says Paige Engineering’s application is on the planning and advisory committee agenda for Wednesday, but presentations for and against the application won’t take place,
“These files have been closed and will not proceed any further with the planning advisory committee or council,” Kirton said.
Numerous letters of opposition were gathered since the last meeting Dec. 16, and a new petition, urging the municipality to help the business find a better-suited location, is nearing 100 signatures.
