CTO distributes back view mirrors among bikers

Rawalpindi: City Traffic Officer (CTO) Rawalpindi Mazhar Iqbal on Friday distributed awareness pamphlets and back view mirrors among motorcyclists under an ongoing awareness campaign launched by Education Wing of CTP.
On the occasion, the CTO said that one glance can save a two wheelers life as most of the road accidents and deaths of the bikers reported due to non-usage of back view mirrors.
Side-view mirrors are an important road safety aid, he said, the CTP have taken a new initiative to make roads safer for two-wheeler riders.
He said, the CTP were making efforts to spread awareness about the rear view mirror which must be used by the two-wheeler riders, as these mirrors are the rear eye of the drivers during heavy flow of traffic on roads.

Eskdale Park is many things to many people a unique playground where generations of locals and out-of-towners have picnicked, swum and played for more than 100 years. We are now at risk of losing this wonderful area, say Friends of Eskdale Park committee members Janice and William MacFarlane.
Eskdale local Trina Bergloff-Howes founded the group, now an incorporated society, in response to the Hastings District Council s 2018 release of the Hawke s Bay Mountain Bike Club s (HBMTBC) plan. The plan includes the building of a hub , car parking for 200 and a swing bridge situated near the current site of the park s toilets.

PESHAWAR: Traffic police Saturday apprehended 13 bike-riders for one-wheeling at Northern Bypass Road.
Taking action on public complaints regarding one-wheeling by bikers, the City Traffic Officer Abbass Majeed Marwat directed concerned staff to nab those performing one-wheeling that was also banned by the district administration.
The police team conducted a raid on Northern Bypass Road and arrested 13 bike-riders involved in one-wheeling and also confiscated motorcycles from their possessions.Meanwhile, the CTO in a statement warned that actions against one-wheeling would continue and no leniency would be shown towards those playing with their own and others’’ lives. He said one-wheeling is the most dangerous activity which claims many lives every year.
