It s time for
Andy Bell to fully embrace the interstellar qualities of his music.
The guitarist has perpetually allowed his melodies to drift into outer space, his pedal rig reconfigured as a portal to other worlds.
New solo cut Skywalker however makes this explicit. Taken from his solo album View From Halfway Down , it blends together his fondness for Beatles-esque pop with the infinite capabilities of a Neu! rhythmic chassis.
Set to be released as a full single package on February 5th, it actually owes a debt to Andy s family. It is dedicated to my daughter, Leia, who was named after the Star Wars princess,â explains Andy of the song. âItâs about being a parent, watching your children grow up, reach adulthood, and live their lives, and feeling unbelievably proud of them. Itâs for all my kids, but inspired by my eldest. Musically, I was channelling Michael Rother and Neu! and the Roland synth reminds me of World Of Twist.â
