Panahgah’s management reenergises campaign for combating pandemic

Islamabad:The Shelter Homes ‘Panahgahs’ management has reenergized its last year’s drive at the facilities of the twin cities of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, aimed to transform them into healthy and eco-friendly places through active mobilization of human and financial resources.
The campaign titled Promoting Healthy Lives was launched in the wake of ballooning cases of coronavirus in the two cities during its third wave, Prime Minister’s Focal Person on Shelter Homes Naseem ur Rehman told this agency during his visit to Tarlai ‘Panahgahs’ where he was sensitizing the dwellers and service providers about the anti-coronavirus SOPs (standard operating procedures).

SailGP will be taking an unconventional approach to combating an undesirable weather forecast this weekend, with the opening day of racing to be pre-recorded and the results to be kept in-house.
The first leg of this year s series will be held in Bermuda this weekend, with the New Zealand team led by Peter Burling and Blair Tuke making their SailGP debut.
While the racing is scheduled to be held on Saturday and Sunday (local time), a still forecast for Saturday has forced the competition organisers to make other plans.

Hiking the price of booze and the legal purchase age is crucial to combating the growing burden of alcohol-related health conditions.
That s according to Waitemata District Health Board which has joined other health boards in endorsing a position on alcohol harm.
It s calling for restrictions on the availability of alcohol, increasing the minimum legal purchase age and price of booze. Health officials are also wanting a reduction of alcohol advertising, promotion and sponsorship, along with drink-driving countermeasures.
