East Algoma OPP are looking to the public for assistance in recovering some $10,000 in property and firearms.
OPP Constable Bev Gauthier says officers are investigating a break & enter that took place sometime between February 6th and 12th on Highway 548 in Tarbutt-Tarbutt Additional Township.
Police have provided a detailed list of the items, which is available on our websites.

Firearms Stolen:
22 Marlin with scope, bolt action, five shot magazine (estimated value: $200)
3030 antique, 100 plus years old, model 1865 Winchester with a metal ring near the receiver, it’s a lever action (unknown value).
SHARE ON: After a lengthy investigation, on January 20th local officers, the OPP s Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau and the OPP s North East Community Street Crime Unit executed a search warrant at a residence on Lee Valley Road in Sables-Spanish Rivers Township.
The police seized several rifles, magazines and ammunition including prohibited weapons.

OPP Constable Bev Gauthier says back in December their office received information that a package containing prohibited devices was being delivered to an address in Sables-Spanish Rivers Township.

One of the accused was known as a bookkeeper to the victim and had access to the complainant’s personal information.

A couple from Blind River is accused of forging a signature of a person one of them knew to buy a used pickup truck from a North York dealership.
The truck was priced at more than $40,000, Ontario Provincial Police say.

One of the accused acted as a bookkeepr to the victim and had access to their personal information. The victim’s certificate of Indigenous status was used so they didn’t have to pay tax on the truck’s purchase, police allege.

The East Algoma OPP has arrested three men in connection to a drug raid on the Mississauga First Nation.
OPP Constable Bev Gauthier says yesterday morning around 7:00, police executed a search warrant at a residence on Park Road in the First Nation just west of Blind River.
She says a search of the residence led to police finding of suspected crack cocaine and crystal meth, drug paraphernalia, cellphones and over $400 in cash. The value of the drugs seized is around $6000.
Two 18-year-olds from Scarborough and a 15-year-old from Blind River have each been charged with three counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking and property obtained by crime under $5,000.
