Tau Kappa Epsilon (Kappa Chapter) Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) is an international chapter which currently consists of over 250 chapters between the United States and Canada. TKE has the most active chapters of any other fraternity in the United States. Apollo, the god of music, culture, light, and truth, is the patron god of TKE and embodies all of the ideals toward which the members strive to attain. Beloit College houses the Kappa (or tenth) chapter of TKE. The chapter makes many contributions to the Beloit College community, and even the city of Beloit. Among other things, the Kappa chapter raises hundreds of dollars each year to be donated to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital by hosting various fundraising events.

Beloit College requires COVID-19 vaccine, other institutions pass on mandate

BELOIT Beloit College is requiring its students, faculty and staff to get vaccinated against the COVID-19 virus for the 2021-22 school year. Those who provide proof of vaccination will not have to wear masks or go through regular testing for the virus. In an open letter to the community, Beloit College President Scott Bierman said COVID-19 would “remain a reality” and will force the college to continue to have safety measures in place, although masks will not be required for fully vaccinated individuals. “We are confident of our community’s ability to navigate challenges with agility and creativity. Together, we will take any precautions that remain necessary, and adapt quickly to changing local, national, and global conditions,” Bierman wrote in the letter.

May 24, 2021 BELOIT (WKOW) Beloit College announces Monday they are requiring all student, faculty, and staff to be vaccinated before the start of the 2021-2022 academic year. According toa press release from Beloit College, anyone who provides proof of vaccination will not need to wear masks, attend regular testing or have to quarantine if they are designated they have been in close contact with someone who has tested positive for COVID-19 in the fall. The college said those who aren t vaccinated at the start of the academic year for any reason will need to attend regular testing, quarantine if designated a close contact of a positive case, wear masks and follow physical distancing guidelines. 

Nearly 47% of Wisconsin residents have had at least one dose of COVID vaccine

By Brandon Arbuckle May 24, 2021 | 2:36 PM MADISON, Wis. Nearly 47% of Wisconsinites have gotten at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, according to the state Department of Health Services. As of Monday, 2,727,649 people have received at least one dose, which is 46.8% of the state’s population. Health officials said 2,384,175 residents have fully completed the vaccine series, or 40.9% of Wisconsin. A total of 5,052,793 doses have been administered throughout the state since December. Wisconsin reported 151 new cases of the virus, which is roughly the same as Sunday’s case count. The seven-day rolling average of new cases per day went up slightly to 329, which is relatively low compared to the beginning of the year.
