The critically-ill baby, who was born three months early, had been diagnosed with life-threatening infections in his blood and bones and had suffered swelling so severe his fingers had turned white. As well as needing 14 different pumps to provide him with the medicine, blood, and plasma he desperately needed, he was also on an oscillator which did all the breathing for him.

Wallingford mum takes on the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge

A MUM who is already juggling family life, home schooling and work is setting herself the challenge of rowing 3000 miles across the Atlantic in the Talisker Whisky Atlantic Challenge. Benson mum Felicity Ashley, 44 will be joining three other working mums in their 40s and 50s on the ‘The Mothership’ in December to take on on ‘The World’s Toughest Row’. They will put their bodies, minds and souls to the ultimate test by taking on one of the world’s greatest physical and mental challenges. Setting off on December 12, the 3000 mile journey will take them from La Gomera, Canary Islands to Nelson’s Dockyard, Antigua.

Taj Champenois died on February 24 at the Noah s Ark Children s Hospital in Cardiff after being found hanging at his home in Roath on February 22. At an inquest opening at Pontypridd Coroners Court on Tuesday coroner David Regan said: I was very saddened to hear of Taj s death. I wish to express my condolences to the members of his family.
