Sunday morning, it started snowing in Waco a rare occurrence, but not unheard of. And then it kept coming down, and kept coming, and kept coming and by 6 p.m., Waco had officially received 4.4 inches of snow, the most since January 1982.
As Baylor Bears, we are blessed to have a beautiful campus but it’s perhaps never more beautiful than when it snows. In case you missed it on social media Sunday, here are some of the best photos and videos capturing the day:

If you’re a sports fan, the best comparisons for Dr. John Wood coming to Baylor in 2013 might be a top free agent or recruit signing with your team. If fishing is your thing, he’s the “big fish” that didn’t get away.
In the academic world, no metaphor is needed he’s a nationally recognized leader in cancer research, a top scholar and mentor who chose to bring his research operation to Baylor in 2013 and has been leading students in groundbreaking natural product synthesis research from the Baylor Sciences Building ever since.
Wood, the Robert A. Welch Distinguished Professor of Chemistry, applies his discipline in the fight against cancer through a process known as natural product synthesis. Most major brand-name drugs are the result of natural products, such as plants, that have a quality or mechanism that fights disease. Wood and his students re-create these molecules and put them together in different ways to fight
Just a few days after offensive coordinator Jeff Grimes left BYU for Baylor, and the Cougars immediately promoted quarterbacks coach Aaron Roderick to replace him, the new Power Five coordinator is reportedly set to take trusted offensive line coach Eric Mateos to Waco, Texas, as well.
The news was first reported by Sic Em 365, a fan site for Baylor Athletics, and confirmed by Football Scoop on Thursday evening. Baylor announced the move Friday afternoon. I am very grateful to Baylor University, Coach Aranda, and Mr. Rhoades for this fantastic opportunity to coach the offensive line for such a prestigious program, said Mateos, who was recently engaged to former BYU athletic department staffer Gillian Chavez. I am excited to pour my heart into our players and compete for championships with a top-notch coaching staff. I am thrilled to see so many great friends and coaches that mentor the elite high school athletes around the state. Gillian and I look forward to building our first
On Campus Chaplains
Take a closer look at two traditional college experiences on Baylor University’s campus living in residence halls and competing on one of the University’s 19 NCAA Division I athletics teams and you will often find a unique marker of Truett Seminary’s influence. Truett students serving as resident and sports chaplains are embedded within their respective communities and walk through the challenges and opportunities of daily life with students.
The resident chaplain program works with the Department of Pastoral Care in the Office of Baylor Spiritual Life and Campus Living and Learning. Each resident chaplain lives in an on-campus residential community and provides a ministerial presence for the residents. Similarly, sports chaplains are integral members of the Baylor Athletics teams and provide a needed source of pastoral care to student-athletes.
