Business owner, former Pennridge coach running write-in race for Perkasie mayor

While there won t be any names on the Democratic or Republican ballots for Perkasie mayor this primary election, two candidates are asking voters to write in their names for the four-year term. In a battle by pen, retired Pennridge teacher and coach Jeff Hollenbach (no relation to Mayor John Hollenbach, who is not seeking re-election) faces Kelly Laustsen, a small business owner. They are seeking write-in votes in both the Democratic and Republican primaries. Neither candidate reported to which party they belong in their campaign announcements, but Hollenbach said he s a Republican and voter registration records list Laustsen as a Democrat.

STRANGULATION — Chester Chatereski, 42, of Perkasie, was charged with strangulation, simple assault, false imprisonment and harassment following a domestic incident April 6 on S. 6th Street, Perkasie Borough Police Department said. He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Regina Armitage, New Britain, and taken to Bucks County Correctional Facility with bail set at 10 percent of $50,000, court information shows. SIMPLE ASSAULT, HARASSMENT — Ryan Wahalla, 33, was charged with simple assault and harassment following a domestic incident April 1 in Sellersville, Perkasie Borough Police Department said. Following a preliminary arraignment, he was taken to Bucks County Correctional Facility with bail set at 10 percent of $20,000, police said.
